The main work of highway maintenance
Cracks are one of the common diseases of asphalt pavement, which not only affect the appearance and driving comfort, but also mainly develop from small cracks into large cracks, causing water ingress into the roadbed and shortening the service life of the pavement. So, before the rainy season arrives, filling the gaps is the main task of highway maintenance.
At present, the materials used for grouting mainly include emulsified asphalt, asphalt, and highway grouting adhesive. Emulsified asphalt or modified emulsified asphalt mainly targets gaps below 1mm. Asphalt is gradually no longer used due to its tendency to flow in summer and be carried away by wheels, as well as poor ductility in winter. The high softening point (greater than 80 ℃) and good low-temperature ductility of road and highway sealant have gradually become the main mainstream materials used in sealant maintenance work.
